An expressway that would shorten travel time between Subic and Clark to about 30 minutes and took three years to build after it was hounded by controversy will be open to motorists—for free—in a weeklong trial run starting Tuesday. Built at a cost of P60.5 billion, the four-lane Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) is the country’s longest toll road. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo led in the “soft opening” of the project at yesterday, March 18 at 10 a.m. The dry run lasts until March 24 and involves only the Subic-to-Clark portion spanning 50 km, officials of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said. Today, March 19 until March 24, the tollway opens from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Vehicles that would be allowed to test the expressway are light vehicles, chartered buses and motorcycles with engine displacements of 400 cc and higher. The weeklong dry run is intended to ease the traffic this Holy Week, BCDA president Narciso Abaya said. Knette Fernando, deputy administrator for corporate communications of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), said the tollway would cut travel time between the Subic and Clark free ports to just 30 minutes—from the roughly one hour and 30 minutes using the old roundabout route. Toll fees on the new expressway would be waived during the Holy Week.
After the Holy Week dry run, the tollway will be temporarily closed for final preparations before it officially opens next month. “From either south or north Luzon, motorists going to Subic can take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), exit at the interchange going to Clark, then motor smoothly to Subic for a holiday of fun and adventure,” Fernando said. SBMA said that the SCTEx, a major project of the Arroyo administration, covers a total distance of 93.77 km, and has at least 34 bridges. The project is divided into two sections—the 50.5-km Subic-Clark span and the 43.27-km Clark-Tarlac section.
Abaya said the full opening might be set in the third or fourth week of April this year.

Can I avail of the pag-ibig loan even if I am not yet a member?
YES! MEMBER or NON-MEMBER of PAG-IBIG can avail the PAG IBIG housing loan. For non-member, pay the 2-year membership fee equivalent yo P8,750.00. The Pag-ibig Membership Application Form is available at our sales office in XEVERA.
How much do I have to pay to move in?
You can move in to your unit as long as you have paid the equity (P70,000.00 : reservation is P20,000.00 then the P50,000 balance can be paid in 6 months)) and your loan has been approved. All you have to do is sign the Pag-Ibig loan folder, submit all the requirements and we'll process your loan.
I am an OFW living abroad. How do I go about making a purchase at Xevera?
Step 1: choose a unit (Block and Lot number)
Step 2: Fill up the Marketing Kit (your atty-in-fact or your representative can do this for you)
Step 3: Pay the full equity of P70,000 or just the reservation fee of P20,000.00
After you made your reservation, you or your representative is given the HDMF (PAG-IBIG) LOAN FOLDER and you are given 1 week to submit the following:
1. Issue Post dated checks for the (balance) equity (if you only paid the reservation fee)
2. Issue 24 PDCs for the 2 years Pag-ibig Monthly Amortization
3. Submit the HDMF Folder (completely filled up and signed)
If the buyer is married, the spouse must also sign in the Loan folder
4. Submit all the necessary requirements
Note: If you are living abroad, you can just download and print the attached SPA and
your Atty-in-fact can sign al the documents. He can also open a checking account
with RCBC savings Bank at a minimum maintaining Balance of P2,500. The
account is under your Atty-in-fact's name, and he will be the one to issue the
PDC's, that is for your approval and you don't have a Phil. checking account.
I am an OFW living abroad. How can I assign people in the Philippines to make the purchase for me?
For OFWs or buyers living abroad, please print the Special Power of Attorney (4pcs) to be sent via email / mail , put the name of the person you would like to be your atty-in fact (the person you are authorizing to sign all the documents ), then sign the S.P.A.
If you are married, and you are both living abroad, print another 1 set (4 copies ) for your spouse, place the name of the atty-in-fact (you can have the same atty-in-fact) then sign the S.P.A.

Top Six Reasons to like Xevera
I went to Xevera just last week just to know what makes my colleagues excited of their purchase of the Xevera houses and I was quite impressed with the ongoing infrastructures in the village. A lot of business establishments are scheduled to open soon... the fascinating fountains, my first time to see such in a subdivision... the pool was huge, I imagined myself and my family enjoying the benefit of such facility... the Wet and Dry market is about to open too... Montessori de Xevera enrollment is now going on, isn't it exciting! There is a Church and a Municipal Hall too.. All these surprised me much, I really was overwhelmed. I told my husband if only we don't have our currently paid home to Pag-Ibig, I won't have second thoughts of reserving one in this place.
